2010 DaVinci Fellows Award

The DaVinci Institute Board of Directors requests nominations for the 2010 DaVinci Fellows Award. This award recognizes creativity, broadly defined, among Oklahoma’s higher education faculty. Acting on the premise that creative thought and insight are fundamental components of extraordinary scholarship, invention, teaching, and performance across academic disciplines, the DaVinci Institute seeks nominees whose accomplishments reflect a high degree of innovation. The recipients of this honor will receive a $1,000 award. Information about previous DaVinci Fellows can be found at http://davinciok.org .

The Nominees

Nominees for the DaVinci Fellows Award will be faculty members of Oklahoma’s higher education institutions who have made an innovative and significant contribution to their academic discipline.


Award Selection Criteria

The award selection committee will judge nominees according to the following criteria, whether a nominee is an engineer or a ballerina, a social scientists or a linguist.

  • Complexity of issue
  • Fresh perspective/creative approaches
  • Effectiveness/Appropriateness of results

Nomination Documentation

Nominators will submit the following documents for the individual they wish to nominate for the 2010 DaVinci Fellows Award.

  1. Nomination letter which introduces and provides the nominee’s academic credentials.
  2. 2010 DaVinci Fellows Nomination Form (click to download) with the signature of the nominee’s President or provost or academic Vice President.
  3. Nomination Narrative (one to three pages in length) which includes:
    • Description of the context in which the nominee has shown unique perspective
    • Explanation of the creative approach to a complex problem or situation
    • Description of the effectiveness and/or results of the nominee’s accomplishment.
  4. Supporting materials
