Creative Oklahoma celebrates Oklahoma’s unique and distinguished past and the strength and resourcefulness of its people. But it does not stop there. It looks to Oklahoma’s bright future. It seeks out, identifies, recognizes, and nurtures the seeds of imagination, creativity, and innovation of today’s Oklahomans that are the building blocks of our future.
The State of Oklahoma was on the world stage in November 2010 when it hosted the annual Creativity World Forum, a global conference focused entirely on creativity and innovation.
The two-day conference and trade exposition featured internationally renowned speakers, seminars and idea exchanges. Guest speakers included, author, Daniel Pink, New York Times technology guru, David Pogue, author, Sir Ken Robinson. The DaVinci Institute sponsored Jack Lew, VP and Dean of Visual Communication, Laguna College of Art and Design.
Over 2500 guests attended the 2010 Creativity World Forum. The 2009 Creativity Conference was held in Stuttgart, Germany.
Oklahoma holds the distinction of being the only U.S. state currently recognized as a District of Creativity (DC) and is one of only 14 regions designated throughout the world.
